Project Synopsis
This new 3-story, 45,000sf Library Research Facility will be LEED accredited based on USGBC rating system for sustainable/green environmental design. Working in conjunction with Perry Dean Rodgers/Partners Architects of Boston, Lauer-Manguso provided the Civil/Site Engineering and Landscape Design. Advanced environmentally-sensitive site features include:
1. Landscaping with native adaptive plantings to reduce irrigation demands.
2. Rain garden to purify stormwater runoff before it is discharged off-site.
3. Light colored paved areas, open-grid pavement, and shade trees incorporated to reduce heat – island
effects.
4. Shielded site lighting to eliminate glare and light pollution.
5. Recycling of construction site demolition waste.
