Project Synopsis
Lauer-Manguso & Associates Architects provided an enlargement of the existing main dining room by 835 sq. ft. allowing for an increase in patronage by 75%.
Special attention was paid to the exterior façade in order to insure that the new addition would blend in with the existing wood frame structure. Careful attention to detail and finish incorporated the main features of the existing exterior into the new addition.
It has been said that the execution of detailing was so good that patrons often mistake the existing upper floor clerestory for that of the new addition.
The program mandated that the new addition retain the same view as the original banquet room while meeting current energy code requirements. Through modern technology in glazing and high performance insulation this goal was accomplished.
